David Edwards is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Chemical Engineers, and the Society of the Environment. He has worked for some of the largest international water and environmental EPC and operating companies in the sector, holding senior technical and leadership roles across Engineering, Asset Management, and Operational Directorates on several continents. He specializes in membrane technology and has contributed to the innovation, design, and build of the largest ultra-filtration plant in the world, as well as the first global desalination reference scheme drawing from brackish-tidal reaches. He has delivered international keynote conference speeches and is currently a visiting Professor at Aston University (UK) and Chongqing University (China). He has also contributed to the UK (Drinking Water Inspectorate) and European (CEN) membrane regulatory framework.

Dr. Nuri Onat is an Associate Professor at the Qatar Transportation and Traffic Safety Research Center, College of Engineering, Qatar University. He also holds international affiliations with the School of Sustainability at Arizona State University (USA) and the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED) at the University of Waterloo (Canada). He has led international research projects totaling $3 million USD in funding, focusing on sustainable transportation, sustainability assessment and analytics, and industrial ecology. He has co-authored 100+ publications in interdisciplinary journals including Nature Communications, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Applied Energy, Transportation Research Part D, and Industrial Ecology. He also leads the start-up “Sustainable Systems and Solutions Lab (S3Lab),” providing sustainable solutions for industry and stakeholders.

Dr. Hussein A. Kazem is a Professor at Sohar University, Oman, and UNESCO RCQE Chair in Emerging Renewable & Sustainable Energy Technologies. He holds a BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Technology, Iraq, and a PhD from Newcastle University, UK. With over 30 years of academic and research experience, he has published more than 300 papers, authored eight books, and supervised over 90 postgraduate and undergraduate students. He is listed among the world’s top 2% scientists by Stanford–Elsevier and serves as Associate Editor of Solar Energy.

Professor Seyed Mojtaba Sadrameli is a Professor at the German University of Technology (GUtech). His research interests include thermal energy storage and renewable energy, phase change materials, and thermo-chemical conversion of triglycerides for producing renewable hydrocarbons. His work also covers production of transportation fuels via thermal and catalytic pyrolysis of polymer wastes, industrial energy management and waste minimization, energy analysis and energy audits in industrial and commercial buildings, and the conceptualization, computer simulation, and optimization of chemical processes. He is familiar with process simulators including CHEMCAD, HYSYS, and ASPEN PLUS.
